Ballin' in these!

Hey! Hope I get this right! First of all, I just want to tell you guys that I'm in to sports, mainly basketball. So, that makes me a shoe collector too! Moving on... I just bought this pair of shoe last December and mainly played using them throughout. Yes? What shoe? Oh yeah, right. Forgot to tell ya.

TIS THE NIKE ZOOM KD IV!!!

The Nike Zoom KD IV "Obsidian"

EH?! That's an expensive shoe! Uhh... Not really, comparing these to the famous Kobe and LeBron kicks, these are the cheapest. Going off for $95. Yes, $95. And I tell ya, there are lots of things you're missing if you don't buy this little ^&$%#% shoe. So, let's start the review!

These are the main points:

Traction: 8/10
Cushioning: 7.5/10
Lockdown: 10/10
Support: 7.5/10
Breathability: 8/10

Overall: 41/50 = A

TRACTION:
KD IV "Weatherman"

The responsiveness of the shoe to outdoor and indoor use is great. There's a slight chance that you'll slip in these. Maybe the only reason you'll slip is because the court is very dusty. It can give you stops without losing your balance, therefore making it easy to switch from being aggressive to passive. It's also filled with designs, ranging from Thunderbolts (Durant's team, the OKC Thunder), his signature, words of motivation and the names of his family and friends.

CUSHIONING:

The cushioning of the Nike Zoom KD IV is somewhat extraordinary and at the same time, lacks softness. But, the Nike Zoom technology makes up for it. The shoe has a lightweight Phylon midsole and a full Zoom technology on the other parts. In my experience, I had to use pads first before I adapted to its cushioning. But, eventually, this makes you stronger as you pull those jump-shots like KD does.

LOCKDOWN:
KD IV "N7"

Here comes the most interesting part of the shoe. The newest system unveiled by KD's shoe designer, Leo Chang, the "Adaptive Fit System". A Velcro strap runs from the inner part of the shoe and goes over the top of the foot, locking on the other side. Therefore, giving it superior lockdown. In my experience, even though playing fastball, I'm confident that the shoe will not untie itself, nor getting left behind. This helps players who are active around the court, or the scorers. At first, the shoe will feel tight. But I tell ya, after a few weeks or a few games in these, you'll be rocking out points.

You can optimize the shoe to your foot by taking the laces off, put on your socks, wear the shoe without the laces, then apply the laces. Do these steps every time you feel uncomfortable with the shoe. Doing so will make the foot adapt to you and your style and you adapting to the shoe.

SUPPORT:
KD IV "Away"

A mid-cut type shoe. 5/8 collar. Just right below the ankle. It does not limit a player's ability to cut to the basket or a lane fast. A slashing or fast type of a player can benefit from this type of support. Why though? It helps them move without any restrictions. It's also constructed using the Hyperfuse technology. The Hyperfuse is made up of three different layers pressed together by a machine. It then becomes thin, durable and lightweight.

BREATHABILITY:
KD IV "Galaxy"

The Nike Zoom KD IV has two vents on the outside side of the shoe. It provides excellent breathability. It helps the player cool down. After all, the foot is locked inside the shoe due to the terrific Adaptive Fit Lockdown System. Although, the small ventilation on the pinky side can sometimes cause hot spots. I advise you to use thick or extra thick socks when playing in these.

PROS: Great price, superior lockdown and excellent transition. No creases even after many usage.
CONS: There are hot spots around the ventilation area, narrow midfoot (This only applies if your foot is wide.)

OVERALL: Great shoe, great design, great price. GET IT. Remember, $95 only. ;)
