Anime's of yesterday (REVIEW): Gundam SEED

Konnichiwa minna! After weeks of absence, I'm finally back! And this time, we are to review and revisit old memories by reviewing 2003's Gundam SEED! This is like a remaster of the old Gundam series'. It revolves around a 16-year-old teenager living in a neutral colony but soon joins the military reluctantly.

Gundam SEED mixes many genres into one show. It shows mecha, romance, action and a little bit of mystery. It's soundtracks are sung by the greats. These greats are Nami Tamaki, FictionJunction Yuuka, T.M. Revolution. It has 50 non-boring episodes that will really make you think what happened. Although, I felt bad about the characters who had potential, but was thrown away easily.
Cosmic Era 71, a war is being fought between the genetically modified Coordinators and the genetically untainted Naturals. During the conflict, a supposed neutral colony comes under attack for harboring new, prototype weapons, the Gundams. In the midst of the chaos, a young teenager, Yamato Kira, manages to secure a Gundam and fights to save his friends’ lives. Tensions between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance Forces escalated to a new level after the Bloody Valentine War. In a neutral colony, mobile suits known as G.U.N.D.A.M. were being developed. A teenager and his friends accidentally get caught in the war. His name is Kira Yamato. The Ultimate-Coordinator.

There are some adult scenes, but overall, I hate the animation. Frames and scenes repeat. But what can you expect? It's a decade old. Animations were not as good as it is like now. The character and mech designs are really cool and can catch someone's attention quickly. However, the characters are full of angst against the other nation. That's something cool yet disappointing, it makes them only think of revenge.

Overall, it's a good Gundam series and it caught my attention quickly. It has plot holes, and it's not entirely perfect, but it attracted a lot of Gundam fans, both lovers and haters.
